Welcome to the Post Graduate Department of Urdu at Gaya College. Here we take immense pride in our rich linguistic heritage and our role in promoting the national harmony and unity. Our department is committed to provide a vibrant and stimulating environment for students. The Department of Urdu, Gaya College, Gaya, Bihar is recognized as the prestigious and pioneering departments of Urdu in Magadh University. The department was established in 1944 when the college was established. This is one of the oldest Department of Gaya College. From the beginning the department is known for its renowned faculty members and well known scholars like Prof. Moinuddin Dardai, Prof. I Rafa Hamdani, Prof. Akhtar Quadri, Prof. Shah Mohd Shakeel, Prof. Afsah Zafar, Prof. Alimullah Hali, Prof. Mazhar Hussain etc.

With dedicated and passionate faculty members we strive to inspire our students to achieve academic excellence and develop a deep appreciation for Urdu language and its literary traditions

Beyond the classroom teaching we organize various events, seminars, Special Lecture and Talks, workshops, debate and writing competitions, poetic sessions that provide our students an opportunity to engage with distinguished authors, Poets and Scholars, fostering a broader understanding and appreciation of Urdu Culture and Literature
